OUR MISSION
The West Deerfield Township Food Pantry's mission is to assist residents in our communities who are struggling to provide food for their households.

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to alleviate food insecurity in West Deerfield Township by engaging the community in a call to respond to this need. Non-perishables, household cleaning products and personal care items are distributed from the pantry, along with gift cards, as available.

HOW DONATIONS ARE USED
Cash donations go directly to providing gift cards to local grocery stores so that our clients are empowered to buy fresh produce, dairy or meat items. Occasionally we purchase food items bought in bulk for distribution, and we accept donations of non-perishable food items, and cleaning and personal care products. There are no administrative costs or staff or rent/utilities. Our only costs are for letterhead and stamps.

WHAT WE PROVIDE
In cooperation with other agencies and partners, we connect less-fortunate residents to many different resources that they need, including but not limited to nutritional support, financial assistance, health care, housing, medical care, and family counseling. The pantry is often a gateway to many other services that low-income individuals and families access after they are made aware of them.

Our clients receive assistance in the form of food each month. During the December holidays, each recipient household receives a holiday gift, as well. School-aged children benefit from an annual Back-to-School program that includes new shoes, some clothing, school supplies, and haircuts. We are grateful to our partners: the Optimists Club of Deerfield and Newcomers and Neighbors of Deerfield Club.
